About NearSpotUSA
NearSpotUSA is a free, searchable directory of local businesses covering every US state, city and ZIP code β 14,408,629 listings across 29,540 cities, 40,977 ZIP codes and 156 categories.
Where the data comes from
The core business dataset is built from Overture Maps Foundation, an open, multi-provider places dataset backed by Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, TomTom and others (licensed CDLA-Permissive 2.0) β not scraped from any single proprietary source. State, city and ZIP code geography comes from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0), and map tiles are provided by OpenStreetMap contributors.
Listing counts are real
Business and listing counts shown across the site are exact counts from the underlying dataset for that state, city, ZIP code or category β not estimates or rounded targets. Some ZIP codes genuinely have no listed businesses (a PO-box-only ZIP, for example); those pages say so rather than padding the count.
Adding, claiming or correcting a listing
Business owners can add a new listing or claim an existing one for free. Every submission is reviewed before it goes live, so corrections and new listings donβt appear instantly, but they do appear.
Frequently asked questions
Is NearSpotUSA affiliated with the businesses it lists?
No. NearSpotUSA is an independent directory. Listings are compiled from open map data, and business owners can claim or correct their own listing at any time.
How accurate is the business data?
Data comes from Overture Maps Foundation's open places dataset, which aggregates and reconciles multiple providers. Like any large-scale directory, some listings may be outdated β business owners can submit a correction for free.
How often is the directory updated?
The core dataset is refreshed from Overture Maps periodically. Owner-submitted additions and corrections go through moderation and typically appear within a few days of approval.
